Our solution, which has been approved by regulators, utilizes treatment-in-place systems in areas that have the highest levels of chromium, one of the largest in-place barrier treatment system for metals in the world, and an innovative and sustainable remediation method that treats lower levels of chromium by growing alfalfa and other fodder crops. User reviews Review. Top review. A commanding performance from Roberts. I've never been a big fan of Julia Roberts as an actress and so I approached this movie with trepidation but I have to admit that I really enjoyed it.

Not only that, but Julia Roberts was excellent. I don't think I've ever seen a Roberts movie where she had this commanding a screen presence. Her physical presence may have helped in that regard but so did her acting. But man, she really looked good in this movie. Oh, and Albert Finney displayed some pretty solid acting skills as well even though he didn't look good. Overall, I'd say that most people who watch this movie will probably find themselves cheering for Erin and will be very satisfied with the film.

I was. Erin Brockovich in real life won the Miss Pacific Coast title, but she soon gave up the beauty pageants because she found them "shallow". Albert Finney initially turned down the film. Danny DeVito had to convince Finney's girlfriend to convince the actor to change his mind, offering to schedule all of the actor's scenes as Ed Masry closer together so he wouldn't have to be in Los Angeles as long as earlier scheduled.

After the success of the movie about herself, Erin Brockovich was the target of a blackmail attempt by her first husband, an old boyfriend the 'George' biker character in the movie , and their attorney, who threatened to smear her reputation as a parent. She called the police, who recorded the shake down threats and arrested them.

The attorney reportedly served time in prison as a result. Together with his cinematographer Edward Lachman , Steven Soderbergh set out to shoot a major commercial film with an independent approach, filming it in a point-of-view manner. Shooting on location helped achieve a very naturalistic tone, and recruiting local extras from Hinkley who had been involved in the case added to the authenticity.

This is the last of Steven Soderbergh 's films to be shot by a cinematographer other than himself, in this case Edward Lachman. He has shot all of his subsequent films and TV productions, using the pseudonym Peter Andrews. Studio executives were worried that audiences would not forgive the title character's language. Most audience members at the test screenings for the film enjoyed themselves anyway. Steven Soderbergh was attracted to Susannah Grant 's script because of its linear approach, an approach that he largely avoided as a director.

Steven Soderbergh 's original cut of the film ran over 3 hours. The costumers had found this t-shirt in a thrift store and bought it. He does seem like the most curious person. How did you trust him with, literally, your life story? I had a good relationship with Jersey Films. I trusted them. They understood the importance of telling the true story, but they knew that it would be Steven Soderbergh who would probably get that story told the right way.

I remember meeting him for the first time here at my house. I enjoyed the conversation with him. I loved his Doc Martens and his little dark rimmed glasses. He was easy going. He was intriguing. I was comfortable around him. And, you know, during the whole process, there was always that voice in the back of my mind that [the movie would] probably never get made. Tell me about getting the call that Julia Roberts was going to play you?

Ed would always ask me who I thought should play me. Goldie Hawn? I mean, first of all, Julia Roberts is never going to do it. Ed and I joked with each other constantly. I mean, how does this stuff happen? I was stunned. What happened when you met her? I was very nervous. When she came in, I was sitting and doing hair and makeup. I saw her in the mirror and she went into another room and I could hear her.

B She has a beautiful energy. Her presence is very warm. It was, again, weird. I just met Julia Roberts. Earlier you described that first screening when you were watching Albert and Ed was watching Julia. Well, when I did tell Ed that Albert Finney was playing him, he was disappointed because he thought it was going to be Tom Cruise. He thought Julia was amazing. I was just reading an obituary of Ed where someone said he was tougher than Albert Finney played him.

Ed was something else. I miss him every day. He was really smart. Ed could take you on, especially if he was backed up on principle. He had great tenacity. And he was also a prankster and a jokester. Ed was a thinker. Ed was a giving man with a huge heart, and loved his family and loved his work.

But yeah — if he was going to go after you, he was gonna stay after you. George has passed away. George was a very unique man, and he was so great with my children. I have a joke, and I say it because George even knew about it.

Goddamn, like woo!
