What is the difference between fable and myth

They represented such natural phenomenon as fire as the person of Apollo; water, the person of Poseidon, and feelings of desire, the person of Aphrodite. While a myth is a category of a story that is considered true, a fable is a category that is considered false or fictional. Fables are stories of animals, things, or natural forces that are given human characteristics which usually give a moral lesson. Like myths, fables can be found in most cultures around the world.

The most famous source of fables was Aesop, a slave in ancient Greece. Fables were used to train students of ancient Greece and Rome in public speaking and literary composition.

A myth is a story about gods and heroes and how the world came into being while a fable is a story about animals, things, and forces of nature that are meant to give a moral lesson. Myths are closely related to religion and personify things and natural forces which are considered as gods by ancient people while fables are personifications of animals, things, and natural phenomena meant to teach a lesson. Myths are considered true stories while fables are considered false stories.

The word fable derives from the Latin word fabula, which originally meant about the same as the Greek mythos. Like mythos, it came to mean a fictitious or untrue story. Myths, in contrast, are not presented as fictitious or untrue. Fables, like some myths, feature personified animals or natural objects as characters.

Myth, a symbolic narrative, usually of unknown origin and at least partly traditional, that ostensibly relates actual events and that is especially associated with religious belief. Fables and folktales, on the other hand, offer a moral or lesson.

The fable is a short story usually written in a simple form, though it can also be created in verse. The following will help you clear up the difference between fables, myths, and parables.

What is a myth? Mythology is a collective account of myths. Many times myths help to explain the unexplainable or how things came to be. For example, the mythological Greek god Apollo carries the sun across the sky in his chariot.

This would explain to ancient Greeks why the sun appears to move across the sky. The mythological Norse god Loki is another example. The myth is also attributed to more epic stories such as the Mesopotamian The Epic Gilgamesh, which is used as a way of explaining the creation of the world and humankind.

What is a fable? Often the fable makes use of animals as the central characters, though personification can also be extended to inanimate objects such as trees or rocks. In a country like India where people worship where there are more than 33 million gods are worshipped by Hindus, there can be more than billions of myths. No one can say that myths are real or fake because to be real people will demand proof of it.

However, without any proof many people believe myths and they try to pass it on to their younger ones and then to their younger ones. Each culture will also have a story to tell about how their gods were created or how they created the Earth and the whole solar system. Myths are also very interesting to hear and they can be told to kids as well because they can have the opportunity to learn new things. Well, it is very relaxing to listen to stories whether be it real or fake because if the story-teller cannot grasp your attention then there is no fun listening to the stories.

Not only kids but the adults also love hearing stories and there are several stories that are not recommended for kids. Most stories are fun and very entertaining because they have culture values to tell and can also have educational content too.
